Screen print made from a bit of a poster ripped off a Manchester wall in 1978.

This was the dawn of Factory Records and everything done/made/issued by Factory was given a number - FAC 1, FAC 2 etc. Of the first 4, 3 were posters for gigs at the Russell Club in Hulme, Manchester.

This is a bit of FAC 4, a poster for December 1978 shows at the Russell including The Adverts, Human League, Magazine and The Undertones.

Factory graphics were designed by the fantastic Peter Saville, but he didn’t get the artwork for this one to the office on time. Instead, it was done at the last minute by the boss, Tony Wilson. He wasn’t asked to do it again!
